Member Impact

As a multiemployer trust fund, the Line Construction Benefit Fund (LINECO) is governed by Federal regulations. LINECO has pro-actively addressed the various regulations that make up the Affordable Care Act (ACA) since its inception in March 2010. We have already complied with the following mandates of the law:

Individual Mandate - January 2014

One of the key requirements of the regulations is that every US citizen must have health insurance effective January 1, 2014. In order to assist uninsured Americans in fulfilling this requirement, many states will be creating Health Insurance Exchanges or Marketplaces.

These will be on-line web-sites to compare and shop for health insurance. They are intended for Americans who do not receive insurance through their employment. You will begin to see and hear many advertisements in Fall 2013 for these exchanges. The rules regarding the exchanges are very complex and some of the information you hear may be misleading.
