FOR PRECERTIFICATION OF ALL TREATMENT OF
SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL OR NERVOUS DISORDERS
Call ValueOptions at 1-(800)-332-2191.
- You or your doctor must call ValueOptions before any type of treatment or psychological testing for substance abuse and mental or nervous disorders begins.
- The treatment must be precertified by ValueOptions as medically necessary under the terms of the Plan.
- If the two requirements above are not met, no benefits of any kind will be payable for the treatment.
After the call is made to ValueOptions about proposed treatment, you will be sent a letter explaining ValueOptions's recommendations regarding certification of the treatment under the terms of the Plan. This letter is your proof that the requirements of the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Review Program were followed. ValueOptions also provides the same information to the Lineco Fund Office who will process your claim accordingly.
Only you and your doctor make the decisions about care and treatment of mental health and substance abuse problems for you and your family.
Although it is best to have your doctor make the call—you, a family member, or the hospital can call make the call to ValueOptions. IMPORTANT - No matter who makes the call, it is your responsibility to see that the call is made.
